The World Series of Poker International Circuit organisers have announced that following a successful inaugural Brazilian live poker tournament last year, it is to offer the festival again between September 27 and October 4 2017.
However, there will be a change in Main Event sponsor, with last year’s deal with 888Poker replaced with a new agreement with PartyPoker Live, giving the GVC subsidiary its first opportunity to make an impact in Latin America as primary sponsor.
The 2017 action will take place at the Bienal Pavilion in Ibirapuera Park in Sao Paulo, with supporting satellite competitions for main event packages provided across the internet by PartyPoker.
With a million dollar guaranteed prize pool on the $1,100 buy-in main event, the organisers expect this year’s festival will attract at least as many entries as the 1,002 players who registered last year, and probably more. Overall, last year’s festival saw 12,000 entries across the range of events.
