Las Vegas poker pro Max Pescatori (44) has just won his third World Series of Poker winner’s bracelet on his tenth WSOP final table, triumphing in event 9 – the $1,500 Razz championship – to claim the $155,947 first prize, bringing his career earnings within shouting distance of $2 million.
It was “The Italian Pirate’s” 46th WSOP cash against a tough field of 462 – bigger than last year’s 352 entries, and a final table that included top players like Ryan Miller, Chris George, Matthew Smith, Eli Elezra, Randy Kaas and Robin Lee.
Prescatori has over a million chips more than Ryan Miller when play reached the heads up stage, and he was able to translate that into a victory despite a game effort by Miller, whose runner up prize was $96,349.
Describing his victory after a rather dry spell as “sweet” Pescatore observed that he is the first Italian-born WSOP player to hold three winner’s bracelets.
