International poker pro Gus “The Great Dane” Hansen has retained his sense of humour despite being a record $17 million in the red on his high stakes and mainly online poker activities.
This week he tweeted: “This downswing has gotten so bad that yesterday I introduced myself as Jean-Robert Bellande!”
Hansen was reacting to another massive hit at Full Tilt Poker’s nosebleed tables, where he went down another $289,000 playing $2,000/$4,000 2-7 Triple Draw this week, seeing his bankroll vanish into the accounts of Alexander “PostflopAction” Kostritsyn and taktloss47, according to the High Stakes Data Base site.
HSDB notes that Hansen’s losses are now approaching the folklore level of Guy Laliberte’s rumoured losses in the latter part of the last decade.
