The new round-the-clock Poker Central television network dedicated to poker entertainment has signed up the National Cable Television Cooperative, which buys programming for 900 nation-wide television companies, as its first cable provider partner.
Poker Central launched in October this year (see previous report) and offers poker-centric programming that includes “100 Greatest Poker Moments,” “Pokerography,” “Doubles Poker Championships,” “Global Poker Challenge: USA vs. The World,” and “Face the Ace,” as well as “Heartland Poker Tour” and “Poker After Dark.”
The network is available on various set-top devices including Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Roku and Xbox and the agreement with National Cable will give its clients access to not just the network, but on-demand programming and TV Everywhere rights, enabling subscribers to watch the network online provided they use their cable log-in.
Management at Poker Central says it has ambitions to sign up many cable providers in future to expand network coverage.
