Poker pro Neil Channing’s announcement last week that his Black Belt Poker site is to close (see previous reports) has been followed by the news that Karl Mahrenholz’s Poker Encore is to welcome Black Belt Poker players on board.
Announcing the deal with Black Belt, Mahrenholz extended an invitation to Black Belt players and commented:
“This partnership will allow for the continuation of popular Black Belt promotions and the maintenance of the Black Belt community site. Existing Black Belt Poker players will also have the chance to bring any existing player points with them to Poker Encore.
“I’ve known Neil ever since I first got involved in poker and we share many common principles and beliefs of how things should be done in poker. He has built an incredibly strong brand and a popular community amongst his players. I look forward to welcoming these players to Poker Encore and working with Neil on the next phase in the life of Black Belt Poker.”
Channing added: “Of all the places we could have directed our players I’m very happy I could do a deal with Karl as I know everyone will be well looked after. I’ll still be around to make sure our players have no problems during the move and look forward to hosting the next Black Belt tournament on Poker Encore”.
