Professional poker player and author Russell “Dutch” Boyd will be out around $60,000 following this week’s ruling by a federal appeals court, which upheld a prior court judgment that he had infringed the trade mark of the popular Two Plus Two information and forum site with his twoplustwopoker.com website.
The court found that Boyd had acted in bad faith in registering the domain in a bid to divert poker fans away from the twoplustwo website.
The Las Vegas Sun newspaper reports that the judgment against Boyd by the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is for $25,000 plus an additional $33,985.
