Online media and forum reports circulating this week are that the Essel Group subsidiary Poker Nation is to temporarily cease operations on September 15 following a decision to depart the MPN India online poker network as part of a corporate restructuring drive that will see the introduction of a home-grown poker product.
A notification on the Poker Nation website reportedly advised interested parties: “PokerNation has made the decision to part ways with its partner Microgaming, it’s current software provider. We would be taking a break and discontinue our poker operations as part of a restructuring process from 15th of September, 2018.”
The break will apparently be for “between 90 to 120 days” whilst the company revamps its online presence and introduce its own customised software and features.
Forum comments have noted that MPN was impacted earlier this year when Khelplay left the network, following the earlier departures of Mercury Poker and Thrill Poker.
Poker Nation has reportedly urged players to withdraw any positive account balances before September 30, or transfer same to other MPN network sites such as Pokeryaar or PokerLion.
