Land casino tycoon Sheldon Adelson predictably ruffled a few feathers in the poker community last week when he claimed in a Yahoo interview that poker was not a game decided by skill and is therefore clearly gambling and exploitive (but not including his own land casino activities, apparently).
US poker pro Brian Rast was among those who took umbrage at the Adelson observations, and reacted by taking to Twitter to point out that skill is very much an influence in the game and to challenge the land casino owner to a heads up game with million dollar stakes to prove it.
Rast tweeted: “Hey Sheldon Adelson, waz up? Poker is a skill game. Don’t believe me? You’re a billionaire, I’m not close. Let’s play HU 4 2 million each.”
Rast followed with several other tweets expanding on his argument, but it apparently fell on deaf earts, because there has so far been no response from the Adelson camp.
