Online high stakes professional players Gus Hansen and an opponent known only by his internet handle as “SallyWoo” have clashed over the former’s online and unsubstantiated allegations that SallyWoo used an Omaha 8 software program to defeat him.
Hansen is reportedly one of the biggest monetary losers in recent online poker history; according to the High Stakes Data Base he is down $8.46 million in 2013 (see previous reports).
Hansen made his accusation after losing an Omaha 8 clash with SallyWoo just after Christmas; in a chat exchange SallyWoo responded, saying that in twelve years of online gambling he had never cheated anyone.
Although Hansen confusingly wrote that he was not accusing SallyWoo of cheating despite his allegation of using an unspecified and presumably unfair computer program, Hansen appeared unwilling to play against his opponent going forward, writing:
“Since this was probably last time we played – I just wanna add it was funny you were so offended of me saying you have an O8 computer program – since obviously you do.”
An exasperated SallyWoo responded: “Oh lord Gus, I don’t cheat. I did nothing wrong here, I’ll ask ft [Full Tilt] for our conversation about our deal and send it to u on twitter or something.”
