Pokerstars marketers are already hard at work on the European Poker Tour’s Barcelona stop planned for August 2014, and for good reason; the event will be the one hundredth in this popular international live tournament series, and the EPT intends to make it the biggest and most spectacular yet seen in Europe.
“The EPT was born in Barcelona so it’s very fitting to celebrate EPT’s 100th event in true style and with unforgettable poker,” said EPT President Edgar Stuchly this week.
“EPT Barcelona is one of the most popular tour stops and attracts players from all over the world for the fantastic mix of beaches, iconic architecture, party atmosphere and world class poker,” he claimed.
Planning is well advanced for the event, scheduled for August 16-27 at the Casino Barcelona. The EPT will once again partner with the regional Estrellas Poker Tour to offer players a full-on 12-day poker festival that could surpass 2012’s record-breaking entries due to the addition of 20 extra tables to meet player demand.
Stuchly revealed that since it started back in 2004, the EPT has hosted over 180,000 poker players, visited 16 countries and awarded over Euro 535 million in prizes.
