Pokerstars marketers are always up for trying something innovative, it appears following the news that the online poker company has partnered with highly acclaimed rapper MC HotDog in the production of his new album, which will be promoted via an expensively presented video item titled Pokerstar.
The Pokerstars blog reports that award winning MC HotDog is the godfather of Chinese hip-hop and one of Asia’s most commercially successful artists.
In the ‘Poker Star’ music video, the rapper is seen playing on PokerStars.net under the username ‘mc_hotdog’ against players from all around the world.
“I enjoy playing poker,” said the 36-year old Taipei native. “I love the competitive mind-sport aspect of the game. Playing on PokerStars allows me to compete with other players anytime and anywhere, no matter if I’m on the road touring between concerts or back at home.”
The release of ‘Poker Star’ will include a promotional campaign where fans from Taiwan can play in a real upcoming poker tournament with MC HotDog. The contest takes place from June 10 until July 27 and the winner will receive a full package to the Macau Poker Cup’s Red Dragon Main Event, which guarantees over TWD $19,000,000 in prize money.
