Joining forces with the national Estrellas Poker Tour once again, the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour (EPT) will feature a total of 43 events between August 16 to 27, 2014.
Lower buy-in “fun” events, more online satellites and a range of new tournament formats that include new dedicated Euro 200 and Euro 1k Seniors Events (for ages 50+) and a reduced buy-in for the Women’s Event (from Euro 300 to Euro 200) in Barcelona.
The Season 11 EPT Barcelona festival is expected to set new European prize pool and attendance records and will kick off with the Euro 1k Estrellas Main Event (which last year attracted a record 1798 entries), followed by the Euro 50 000 Super High Roller and the Euro 5 300 EPT Main Event. An extra 20 tables will be made available for numerous events after sell-out attendances last year.
“Season 10 was such a huge success that we are very excited about the 100th EPT in Barcelona,” said EPT President Edgar Stuchly. “It’s going to be a historic event and we are looking forward to welcoming thousands of players to Casino Barcelona to take part.”
Qualifiers for the EPT Barcelona Main Event are running once or twice a day on PokerStars, with four on Sundays.
Around 50 players have already won their seats including EPT Copenhagen champion Mickey Petersen, EPT London winner David Vamplew, Eureka Prague finalist Stephen “stevie444” Chidwick, PCA runner-up and EPT Dortmund champion Mike “Timex” McDonald and Shaun Deeb.
