PokerStars contacted customers late last week to notify planned changes to their VIP Club in 2017.
The most significant change is that of a combined rewards programme for poker, casino and sportsbook moving away from the current format that rewards according to monthly and annual statuses.
The company said changes to the VIP club made at the beginning of this year had delivered the improvements it had hoped for, leading to a healthier poker ecology that enjoyed more players seeing a flop, more deposits from recreational players and an increase in new players with expanding playing time.
The revised VIP Club is an extension of that strategy, which will now reward players for their activity across a range of PokerStars products.
The company plans to implement a broader reward system that is not based solely on how many poker hands are played and, which at some stage in 2017, will switch from being reset on a monthly basis to one that it personalised to players’ recent gaming activity or profile.
In addition, PokerStars Supernova annual status will become a monthly status from January 1 2017, until the new rewards programme is launched.
