David Rebuck, director of the New Jersey Division for Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE), responding in an interview with GGB News’ Roger Gros, said the NJDGE’s continued review into Amaya focuses more on the company’s purchase of Rational Group rather than on the company itself.
Rebuck revealed that the division had conducted 80 sworn interviews in connection with the $1.4 billion purchase in 2014 along with extensive travel to “half a dozen foreign countries” as part of its investigation.
“We’re going to do this in a very professional way which will be published to the world, because whatever decision we come down on will be scrutinized, and some will hate it and some will love it,” Rebuck said. “It will be done in a way that I can, through this division, have pride in saying this is accurate.”
“I’m not going to be the person that sabotages the work of this great division for the last 35 years,” he told Gros.
Atlantic City’s Resorts Casino Hotel has a pending partnership with Pokerstars, contingent on Amaya Inc. achieving NJDGE licensed status (see previous reports).
