33-Year-old Memphis resident Damjan Radanov took down the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event held at Harrah’s in New Orleans for a payday of $174,514, besting a field of 554 players that included the likes of four-time ring winner David Nicholson.
Radanov met Nicholson heads-up, denying him a fifth ring but a consolation prize of a $107,939 runner-up check.
Serbian-born, Radanov moved to the U.S.A. just over a decade ago. Although completing his third year of law school, Radanov has never practiced in the US but has made his living for the past six years playing poker.
