Resurrection for French online poker site.

By RP, March 20, 2014

The usually well-informed French online poker information site Club Poker reports that MyPok.fr, shuttered since November last year with players denied access to their accounts, may be resurrected following a deal with iPoker France skin JOA-online.

The site will be rebranded My Joa Pok, the information site claims, recalling that MyPok endured several financial difficulties over the three years that it was active, and in late 2012 merged with PokerXtrem to stave off financial trouble, an arrangement that did not last.

Players’ hopes soared when MyPok announced after the November shutdown that it planned a switch to the iPoker network and would reopen in January 2014.

That didn’t happen and it subsequently transpired that Scale, the company behind MyPok, had been removed from the Register of Commerce and Companies (RCS). That was followed by a transfer of assets in favour of the parent Socofinance, along with a trust agreement securing the assets of the players, which was reportedly filed with the French regulator ARJEL.

As far as is known, ARJEL continues to monitor the situation, although it does not appear as if any overt action against the operator has thus far been taken.

In more recent times, support representatives for the company have indicated that it will be back in action shortly, bolstering the rumour that a deal with JOA online was under negotiation. And, Club Poker notes as further confirmation, in January several domain brands centred on the interplay of the my JOA pok title were registered, with accounts for customer service following in February.
