Mike Shanahan has taken down the 2017 Mid-States Poker Tour FireKeepers $1,100 no-limit hold’em main event which attracted a record field of 1,066 entries, the largest in Michigan poker tournament history.
The prize pool tripled its guarantee of $300,000 to reach $1,032,520.
Shanahan, an attorney from Indiana, said he was elated at the win after he outplayed poker pro Aaron Massey heads-up, earning the title and $216,829.
