The producers of Molly’s Game, a biographical movie about celebrity poker organiser and ‘poker princess’ Molly Bloom, are reportedly in talks with top US movie star Kevin Costner, who may join the cast as Molly’s father.
The entertainment industry publication Empire Online says shooting will soon start under the direction of Aaron Sorkin, who has already signed up Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba for starring roles as Molly and her defence lawyer.
Empire observes that Molly Bloom’s story is fascinating and includes superb skiing skills to Olympic standards and a keen business brain, which ultimately enabled her to make millions from organising celebrity high stakes poker tournaments but eventually brought her into conflict with the Federal Bureau of Investigation after it was discovered that some of her players had ties to organised crime in Russia.
