North Carolina nail technician, Vanessa Truong, outplayed a field of 1,164 in the World Series of Poker Harrah’s Cherokee Circuit $1,675 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event, to win $318,646 and her first WSOP gold ring.
Truong went into heads play with Daniel Pearlman having knocked out six, of the eight, players at the final table. She emerged victorious after three and half hours, and 115 hands of play.
“Can’t explain it, kind of like in a dream,” Truong said.
