Ukrainian online poker fan Solik 1968 is a million dollars wealthier this week after topping the 277,000-player Pokerstars Dream Team Collection by besting his final opponent, UK player Gregior.
Entrants began the competition by hunting down pieces of a puzzle which depicted PokerStars SportStars, international football celebrities Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jr and Ronaldo Nazário, subbed in the UK by Daniel Negreanu.
Contestants had to complete tasks in order to collect the pieces of the puzzle, at the same time getting an opportunity to win a $20,000 All-In Shootout ticket or cash prizes along the way. Some were fortunate enough to win Golden Tickets and cash of almost $8,000.
In the end, 47 players won seats in the Golden Ticket $20,000 All-In Shootout and were set to compete for the $1 million main prize or football shirts signed by the soccer superstars.
The final, where contestants played a single automatically all-in hand, did not take long, leaving Solik 1968 and Gregior to decide who collected the million dollars, and Solik quickly emerged as the winner.
Gregior reportedly was smart enough to hedge his bets with some outside investor action, and ended up with $10,000 as well as a consolatory signed shirt.
