Estonian based supplier Relax Gaming has developed software exclusively for the Unibet and Maria brands that will see the company move from the MPN (formerly known as Microgaming Poker Network) to a standalone poker product.
Unibet’s involvement with Relax Gaming was further expanded by an investment of Euro 1.25 million in Relax Gaming for an undisclosed share.
“The environment in the online poker industry has changed over the years and we have come to the insight that being part of a poker network is not sustainable for Unibet in the long term. This project has given us the possibility to start from a blank piece of paper and define everything we believe is important for a fun poker experience. In a way, our goal is to bring the fun back to poker by creating software with a clear focus on the casual player” commented Daniel Eskola, Head of Gaming at Unibet.
Unibet worked closely with the company in the development process of key functionality and design of the product which will include a user friendly table selection, 3D backgrounds, the ability to change avatar’s and screen names and gameplay features such as achievements and missions.
Unibet Poker will be available for PC and MAC download, browser and tablet versions on the IOS and Android platforms.
The company said its relationship with Microgaming remains strong with the continuation of the offer of Quickfire games on Unibet’s online casino.
