US poker pro Brady Holiman scored a convincing victory in the $3,700 buy-in World Poker Tour Choctaw Main Event this week, taking home the first prize of $469,185 and his first WPT title.
Holiman entered final table action with a massive chip lead, which enabled him to claim victory after just three hours of action that culminated in a heads up against fellow US pro Viet Vo.
Although the duo started on a more or less even footing, Holiman soon took control and had a 2 to 1 advantage when he finally ousted his last opponent, sending Vo home with a runner up prize worth $320,725.
755 entries were recorded for the competition, creating a prize pool of more than $2.5 million that enabled 98 players to cash.
The stellar field included notable names like Men “The Master” Nguyen, Chris Moorman, Marvin Rettenmaier, Brian Altman and Art Papazyan.
Other final table cashes included:
Christopher Smith $223,360
