Will Nevada licence firm named in Ultimatebet poker scandal?.

By RP, February 18, 2016

Online poker media are currently reporting that a company and its management implicated in the $20 million UltimateBet hole card cheating scandal several years ago (see previous reports) may be granted a Nevada gaming supplier licence to provide geo-location services in the state’s strictly controlled online gambling sector.

Haley Hintze, a journalist who has extensively investigated and reported on the UltimateBet debacle, which resulted in the imposition of heavy fines on the online poker operator, reported on the Flushdraw poker information site that Iovation and its co-founder Greg Pierson were implicated in the online poker scandal, but have now been recommended for licensing by the Nevada Gaming Control Board to the Nevada Gaming Commission.

The Commission will make the final decision today (February 18) despite one of its officials having been informed by Hintze of the background on Pierson and Iovation late last year.
